A Gentle Facial Care Routine

Caring for your face does not need to be complicated. In fact, using gentle botanical formulas to nurture your skin can be as simple as dedicating only 5 minutes per day to a nourishing care ritual, that will effortlessly encourage detoxification and cellular regeneration, cultivating a radiant and luminous complexion.


Here is the shortlist of our favourite skin care steps to include in your daily regime. Plus a weekly practice to take your daily efforts to a new level!



Morning Ritual


Step 1:


Begin the day with a hot compress and oil cleanse. This is a wonderful way to infuse skin with the much needed moisture and hydration required to ‘get glowing’ and start your day! This method requires only a moment, and feels luxurious! Begin by applying a dime sized amount of Cleansing Oil (We adore our Labrys Facial Cleansing Oil for this step) onto a dry face, and massaging in circular motions over cheeks, forehead, and even into the delicate eye area, while keeping eyes closed. Follow with a steaming hot compress, and gently pat the skin, pressing the face into the cloth for 20-30 seconds. Use this cloth to gently wipe any remaining oil from the face. This process imbibes skin with rich botanical extracts and oils, whilst steaming and opening the pores to remove any accumulated debris from sleep.


Step 2:


Mist the skin with a nourishing toner or facial mist. (Our L'Arboretum Facial Essence is a top pick!)


Step 3:


Apply a few drops of nourishing Facial Serum (Our Manuka Rose Serum is a wonderful choice for the morning!). Massage generously until absorbed.



Evening Ritual


Step 1:


Repeat the cleansing oil process. This will completely cleanse the skin, removing any oil, residue or makeup accumulated over the day.


Step 2:


Mist the skin with a nourishing Facial Toner.


Step 3:


Apply a few drops of nourishing Facial Serum (Our Hylda Nourishing Serum is a wonderful choice for night time!). Massage generously until absorbed.


Step 4:


Apply a rich facial balm over top of facial serum. This will help lock in nutrients, and deeply nourish the skin while you rest. (Our Nocturna Floria Nightly Facial Balm is our nightly go-to!)


 

Weekly Practice


Step 1: Steam the face over a ceramic bowl filled with herbs and flowers.


- Mix all loose ingredients in a large ceramic or glass bowl. We love using herbs such as Rose, Lavender, Peppermint, Calendula, and Thyme!


- Pour boiling water over the herbal mixture of your choice.


- Cover your head with a towel, and position your face over the bowl using the towel as a tent to hold in the steam. With the eyes closed, slowly inhale the aromatic steam alternately through both mouth and nose, breathing as deeply as is comfortable for up to 10 minutes.

Splash face with warm water.


Step 2: Follow with an exfoliating Polish and Mask.

Step 3: Finish with your favourite toner and serum/facial balm combination.
